Vintage Signed Kigu Gold Tone & Marcasite Brooch
Kigu of London was founded in 1939 by George Kiashek, who came from a long line of Hungarian jewellers, more well known for their powder compacts (which are now also highly collectable). Kigu of London produced costume jewellery of exceptional quality for almost half a century, until the company was acquired by a rival in the 1980s.
This beautiful ribbon-shaped brooch is in good vintage condition, although the rollover part of the clasp is missing, hence the low price.
It has been put through an ultrasonic jewellery cleaner for hygiene.
