The Private Memorandums

of

William Roe

of Withdean in the County

of Sussex

1775-1809

Edited by Charles Thomas-Stanford.

William Roe was a distinguished civil servant in the reign of George III and purchased the manorial estates of Withdean Cayliffe and Withdean Court in 1794.

The source of this book is from notes concerning the family affairs and his public employment which William Roe made himself in four notebooks held by the editor at the time of publication.

Printed for private circulation by The Southern Publishing Co. Ltd in 1928.

There is some damage to the covers but internally the book is good.
