Large Antique Ceramic Platter by Bishop & Stonier late 19th century
This large ceramic platter measures approx 18" by 14"
Backstamp is the Caduceus mark and the trade name BISTO which is Bishop & Stonier who manufactured china and earthenware in Stoke-on-Trent between 1891 and 1939.
Greville is the pattern name, and is one of their earlier patterns - later wares tended to be more colourful, known as Aztec Ware.
This plate has the usual production flaws to be expected for this era, but is in overall very good condition, no chips or cracks, repairs, no crackling in the glaze. Colours are still bright.
